In all its processes, Grupo Cárnico Los González has always
taken into account the interaction with the environment. Since 1999, the
slaughterhouse receives its water supplies from a windmill, which works
at 75% of its capacity and extracts 9,000 litres of water per hour. The
water extracted by the mill is stored in two deposits, built for this
purpose, with a capacity of 3,200,000 litres of water, which supplies
the slaughterhouse.
Plant for treatment of solid residues:
In the year 2003, a large amount of money has been invested in this 3,200
sq. m. plant, in order to treat the solid residues generated by the livestock.
With this treatment plant, environmental pollution of this type of residue
is avoided, as it permits its reuse for fertilizers.
Water treatment plant:
An important part of the annual budgets are allocated to the continuous
improvement in the treatment of the waters. All the liquid inflows from
the actual activity pass through the water treatment plant. In order to
comply with the current legislation, our company water treats the sewage,
by adopting integrated means of prevention and control, minimizing in
this way the emission of atmospheric pollutants.
The other different categories of residues generated, which are classified
by the Administration as type 1, type 2 and type 3, are eliminated by
duly authorized, independent companies that are contracted for this purpose.
